The seminar’s central focus was on the pivotal role that higher educational institutions must play in making Bharat a great and prosperous nation by 2047. While the government has set the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat @2047,’ Swadeshi Jagran Manch believes that Bharat should aspire to be not only developed but also great and prosperous. The Swadeshi Jagran Manch has put forth the slogan ‘Great and Prosperous Bharat 2047’ and suggested four key pathways to achieve this goal: Swadeshi (self-reliance), cooperation, decentralization, and entrepreneurship.

Shri Satish Kumar emphasized the need to view this issue holistically. Governments have limited visions and mandates, whereas society’s vision is broad and far-reaching. As Bharat approaches its 100th year of independence in 2047, it is essential to consider the future of the nation from a societal perspective. He outlined eight key pillars on which society should focus to shape the Bharat of 2047: a dynamic youth population, full employment, the world’s leading economy, a strong security system, leadership in science and technology, environmental sustainability, global brotherhood, and the promotion of high moral values.

Based on these pillars, society can build a great and prosperous Bharat. The role of higher educational institutions is crucial in this process, as these institutions influence the youth of the nation. Institutions should inspire young people to participate fully in elections and vote in the nation’s interest. They should also guide them to become ideal citizens who fulfill their civic duties and take responsibility for society. Moreover, youth should be encouraged to become job creators rather than job seekers. They should understand the importance of entrepreneurship and be motivated in this direction from the outset. Institutions must ensure that they steer their students toward entrepreneurship, enabling them to contribute to job creation.

In conclusion, the seminar highlighted that to make Bharat great and prosperous by 2047, all organizations must work together. Higher educational institutions, the industry, the government, and society need to take collective steps to establish Bharat as not just a developed, but a great and prosperous nation by 2047.
